Le Ragnaie is a dynamic, family-owned estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, acquired in 2002 by Riccardo Campinoti and his wife Jennifer. Spanning 28 hectares (with 23 ha of vineyards) across three distinct micro-terroirs in the Montalcino zone, the domaine practices certified organic agriculture. Riccardo emphasizes purity, elegance, and hands-off winemaking with long but gentle macerations, minimal sulfur, and neutral Slavonian oak for the flagship Brunello wines. The high-altitude vineyards, some among the highest in Montalcino, contribute freshness and minerality. Civitella Toscana Bianco IGT 2021 is a 100% Fiano di Avellino (sourced from the Vigna Civitella parcel) — a rare white from a Sangiovese-focused estate. Grapes undergo native-yeast fermentation with 5–6 days skin contact in stainless steel (partial skin-contact/orange style), followed by aging for about 9–11 months in used 660L French oak barrels or concrete vats. Alcohol: 13%. Around 4,400 bottles produced. The 2021 vintage highlights tension and purity.
Shining golden hue with bronze reflections. Expressive nose of wild lemon, kumquat, lime blossoms, mandarin pith, apricot skin, chamomile, and subtle herbal notes. The palate is textured yet taut, bone-dry, with stone fruit, savory mineral salinity, fresh acidity, and a persistent, chiseled finish with petrichor and citrus zest. A vibrant, complex introduction to textured Tuscan whites.
