ABOUT THE WINE

Petra Winery was founded in 1997 by Vittorio Moretti, renowned for Franciacorta's Bellavista, and his daughter Francesca in Suvereto, Val di Cornia, Maremma Toscana. The striking cellar, designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta, integrates harmoniously into the hilly landscape overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Drawing on ancient Etruscan roots—Hebo named after a historic settlement—and early 19th-century plantings by Elisa Bonaparte, the organic estate blends tradition with modern gravity-fed winemaking. Hebo, a vibrant Super Tuscan, reflects the ferrous, mineral-rich soils and Mediterranean climate of this emerging Tuscan coastal gem.
Zingari Blanco IGT Toscana 2022 is a blend of white grape varieties (primarily including Viognier and other aromatic grapes suited to the terroir; alcohol approx. 13-13.5%). Grapes are hand-harvested from estate vineyards on varied clay-limestone and sandy soils, benefiting from cooling sea breezes. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and primary aromas, with no or minimal oak influence. The wine undergoes brief aging on fine lees for texture, followed by bottle refinement. Organic practices ensure vibrant fruit purity and balanced acidity.

TASTING NOTE:

Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is fragrant and inviting, with delicate floral notes of iris, hawthorn, and acacia, alongside fresh fruit aromas of Granny Smith apple, plum, citrus zest, and subtle tropical hints. On the palate, it is agile, nuanced, and highly drinkable—crisp and juicy with lively acidity, pleasant salinity, and good balance. Mineral sensations enhance the freshness, leading to a persistent finish marked by floral echoes and bright fruit. A versatile, food-friendly coastal white.
