ABOUT THE WINE

Bellavista, founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti in Erbusco, Lombardy, is a cornerstone of Franciacorta’s sparkling wine legacy. Spanning 207 hectares across 107 vineyards, the winery harnesses the region’s glacial soils and mild climate near Lake Iseo to craft world-class sparkling wines. Under Francesca Moretti and winemaker Richard Geoffroy, formerly of Dom Pérignon, Bellavista blends tradition with innovation. Its 1,500,000-bottle annual production follows organic viticulture, emphasizing hand-harvesting and manual riddling. The winery’s commitment to quality and sustainability has earned global acclaim, making Bellavista a symbol of Italian craftsmanship rivaling Champagne.
Bellavista Alma Assemblage 1 Franciacorta DOCG Extra Brut NV is crafted using the Metodo Classico, primarily from Chardonnay (86%), with Pinot Noir (13%) and Pinot Blanc (1%). Sourced from 60 vineyards across 10 Franciacorta municipalities, the 2021 vintage base is blended with reserve wines from 2014, 2019, and 2020. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel, with some lots aged in small oak barrels. The wine matures over 36 months on lees, with a 3g/l dosage, resulting in a fine, persistent perlage. Alcohol content is 12.5%. Manual riddling and a meticulous 91 base wine selections ensure complexity.

Alma Assemblage 1 Extra Brut NV dazzles with a straw-yellow hue and fine, persistent bubbles. Its bouquet is vibrant, offering floral notes, citrus, ripe white fruit like pear and peach, and subtle hints of toasted almond and bread dough. On the palate, it’s fresh, creamy, and well-balanced, with a mineral backbone and lively acidity. Flavors of poached cherry, yellow plum, and Meyer lemon peel unfold, accented by pickled ginger and brioche. The long, elegant finish carries salty, mineral undertones, showcasing Franciacorta’s terroir with finesse and complexity. Perfect as an aperitif or with seafood.
