Domaine Boris Champy is a biodynamic estate in Nantoux, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, originally founded in 1984 by pioneer Didier Montchovet as one of Burgundy's first Demeter-certified biodynamic domaines. Boris Champy acquired it fully, renaming it and expanding its focus on high-altitude, terroir-driven plots while maintaining organic/biodynamic practices and minimal intervention. The 2022 "Bignon 421" (from the "En Bignon" parcel at 421m altitude in Bouze-lès-Beaune) is a standout Pinot Noir: deep and complex for a mountain wine, with a wonderful nose of forest berries, red cherry, raspberry, violet, subtle spices, floral notes, and earthy minerality. The palate is refined, suave, and velvety—ripe fresh red fruits, soft integrated tannins, vibrant freshness, intense minerality, and a long, elegant finish.
