Domaine Boris Champy is a pioneering biodynamic estate in Nantoux, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Burgundy. Originally founded in 1984 by Didier Montchovet as a tiny 0.5-hectare plot, it grew under organic and Demeter-certified practices. In 2020, experienced winemaker Boris Champy — a Champagne native with Napa Valley and Clos des Lambrays experience — took over, continuing the focus on terroir-driven, balanced wines with minimal intervention. Domaine Boris Champy Rouge "Au Clou 377" Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune 2021 is a 100% Pinot Noir from a single high-altitude plot (377 meters) in the lieu-dit “Au Clou” on rocky limestone and chalky soils. Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle extraction with partial whole-cluster fermentation, followed by 12 months aging in barrels (around 15-30% new oak depending on vintage). The cool 2021 vintage yielded a lighter
Bright ruby hue with a fresh, mineral nose of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, white pepper, spice, and subtle floral/herbal undertones. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy red fruits, airy texture, delicate tannins, vibrant acidity, chalky minerality, and a pure, lingering finish. Approachable yet structured.
