Château Giscours, a historic Troisième Grand Cru Classé in Margaux, traces its roots to 1552 when Pierre de Lhomme began planting vines on the estate. Owned by the Albada Jelgersma family since 1995, the property spans gravelly soils in the Médoc, renowned for elegant, structured Bordeaux wines with aromatic brilliance and refined tannins. Le Haut-Médoc de Giscours 2022 is the estate’s accessible second-label-style wine from 63 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation. This exceptional vintage blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc (first inclusion of Cab Franc for spicy complexity). It features 12 months aging in barrels, yielding a medium-bodied wine with fresh, opulent black fruit aromas, silky texture, delicate tannins, and a vibrant, indulgent finish.
Rich blackcurrant and red berry notes with floral lift, liquorice, and minty freshness; juicy, supple palate with purity, energy, and fine structure—approachable now yet age-worthy. A polished, value-driven expression of Giscours style.
