|NEW SOUTH WALES
Logan is a family owned and operated winery in the NSW Central Ranges area (that’s Orange and Mudgee) of which Peter Logan is the owner and head winemaker. Their grapes in Orange are amongst the coolest grown in the country, sitting at 1000 metres above sea level on an extinct volcano, Mt Canobolas. Cool to cold temperatures, long slow ripening, plenty of sunshine and ancient volcanic soil provide a particular terrior for pinot noir, pinot gris, riesling, chardonnay and other grapes, including elegant spicy shiraz. Being 400 metres lower than Orange, the neighbouring region of Mudgee has a climate characterised by warm days and cool to cold nights in the growing season, while the soils are ironstone and quartz laced gravelly loam, conditions great for growing shiraz and tempranillo with character and depth.
Clementine, is named after Peter Logan’s beautiful 8 year old daughter and is the home of the funkier offerings – whites and pinot gris fermented on skins and a juicy young red we serve chilled in the warmer months.
A real beach baby, Clementine loves the uplifting feeling of the ocean. The unique combination of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Gewürztraminer - all skin fermented - create the same refreshing experience. A little cloudy like the ocean, with pretty floral and citrus peel aromas. Bursting with poached quince, clementine and lemon sherbet flavours with a salty tang of sea spray on the palate. Dive right in.
The 2022 Clementine de la mer is a little cloudy like the ocean with a pale yellow gold colour. It has bright aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit, rose, poached quince and nashi pear with white peach, orange peel and the salty tang of sea spray on the palate.
