ABOUT THE WINE

Sileni Estates is a renowned winery located in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. The winery was established in 1997 by Graeme Avery, a fifth-generation winemaker who had a vision to produce premium quality wines that would showcase the unique terroir of Hawke's Bay and New Zealand. Today, Sileni Estates is one of the largest privately-owned wineries in Hawke's Bay, with a reputation for producing exceptional wines that are enjoyed around the world.
The winery is committed to sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices, and it has received several certifications for its sustainable viticulture and winemaking practices. Sileni Estates produces a wide range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. The winery is also known for its innovative winemaking techniques, including a unique "micro-oxygenation" process that enhances the flavor and texture of its wines.
The 2019 vintage of Sileni Estates Exceptional Vintage Pinot Noir is expected to be a complex and elegant wine with a medium body and silky tannins. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, which are grown on the estate's vineyards in the Dartmoor Valley and Maraekakaho sub-regions of Hawke's Bay.

TASTING NOTE:

The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels before being bottled. It is known for its aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and spice, as well as a hint of earthy notes. On the palate, it is smooth and supple, with flavors of red fruit, vanilla, and a touch of oak.

FOOD PAIRING:

Sileni Estates Exceptional Vintage Pinot Noir is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of foods, including grilled meats, game, and mushroom dishes. It is also a great wine to enjoy on its own, as its complexity and depth make it a wine worth savoring.
