ABOUT THE WINE
"Kimura Cellars is a small, family-owned boutique winery in Marlborough, New Zealand, founded in 2009 by Japanese winemaker Shigehisa Kimura (Shige) and his wife. After studying viticulture and oenology in New Zealand, Shige gained experience at renowned estates including Clos Henri and Villa Maria before establishing his own label. The couple now tends their own organically farmed vineyard in Grovetown, in the heart of the Wairau Valley. Chardonnay 2023 is crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on their home block. This elegant white offers inviting aromas of ripe peach, apricot, grapefruit, green apple, white flowers, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is balanced and textured with vibrant acidity, notes of citrus, stone fruit, a touch of nuttiness and stony minerality, and a clean, refreshing finish. A versatile, food-friendly New Zealand Chardonnay with excellent purity and drinkability."
