ABOUT THE WINE
Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret is a historic family estate in Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits, with roots dating back to 1620. Today run by the Mongeard family (Vincent and his children), the domaine spans nearly 30 hectares across prestigious appellations and is renowned for elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir. The Cuvée M Malbec 2022 is a playful and rare creation: 100% Malbec planted in 2010 on clay-limestone soils near Clos de Vougeot. Because Malbec is not permitted in Bourgogne appellation rules, it is labeled Vin de France. In the excellent 2022 vintage, it displays vibrant aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, black cherry, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, juicy and supple with rounded tannins, bright acidity, and a fresh, savory finish — more elegant and Burgundy-like than typical New World Malbecs. A fun, versatile red perfect with grilled meats, duck, or Asian cuisine.
