Domaine Rapet Père & Fils is a historic family estate in Pernand-Vergelesses, tracing its roots back to 1765. Today, the domaine spans around 20-24 hectares and is run by Vincent Rapet (now joined by his son Robin). It practices organic farming and produces elegant, terroir-driven Burgundies with minimal intervention. Chorey-les-Beaune Vieilles Vignes 2020 comes from old-vine Pinot Noir planted on the alluvial plains at the foot of the Côte de Beaune. The soils consist of limestone-marl alluvium with stony subsoil and occasional iron-rich elements, giving the wine a lovely balance of fruit and earth. In the outstanding 2020 vintage, this wine displays fragrant aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and subtle dried herbs. On the palate, it is supple and round with juicy red fruit, fine tannins, bright acidity, and a savory mineral finish. A charming, great-value Burgundy that is approachable now yet capable of further aging.
