Cascina Valle Asinari is a family-run estate in San Marzano Oliveto, in the heart of the Barbera d'Asti zone in Piedmont's Asti province. Focused on traditional, high-quality Barbera from hillside vineyards with sandy-silty soils, the producer emphasizes careful grape selection and modern yet terroir-respecting techniques to highlight the variety's vibrant fruit and freshness. It has gained recognition for consistent, value-driven expressions, often earning high praise from critics. The 2021 Barbera d'Asti is a classic, elegant red (100% Barbera): deep ruby with violet hues. The nose offers wafting ripe cherries, black plums, raspberry, cherry jam, forest fruits, subtle red roses, wild herbs, spice, dried flowers, and graphite minerality.
