ABOUT THE WINE
Renato Ratti, founded in 1965 by visionary enologist Renato Ratti in La Morra (Piedmont), revolutionized Barolo with single-vineyard vinification and cru mapping. Now led by son Pietro, the historic estate in the Annunziata area produces elegant Langhe classics, including this surprising international variety adapted to local terroir. 100% Chardonnay from La Morra vineyards. Soft pressing, fermentation in stainless steel (some sources note partial barrique influence in style), short lees aging for freshness. Dry (1.2 g/L residual sugar), 13% alcohol. Bright straw yellow; intense aromas of tropical fruits (banana, pineapple), grapefruit, citrus zest, and floral hints. Fresh, elegant, balanced palate with vibrant acidity, savory harmony, and a surprising, honeyed finish.
