ABOUT THE WINE
Domaine Philippe Garrey is a small, family-run estate in Saint-Martin-sous-Montaigu, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy. Sixth-generation vigneron Philippe Garrey took over in 2002 (full control 2005), expanding to ~5 hectares. Practicing biodynamic (Demeter-certified since 2010), focusing on purity, balance, and terroir expression with minimal intervention. 100% Chardonnay from argilo-calcareous soils in Mercurey-area parcels. Hand-harvested, natural yeast fermentation, aged in oak barrels (max 20% new) and tanks; no chaptalization. Bottling follows biodynamic calendar. Pale gold; fresh aromas of citrus, white fruits, flowers, and subtle minerality. Elegant, vibrant palate with crisp acidity, pure fruit, and saline finish—reflecting biodynamic vitality.
