Kimura Cellars Winemaker's Blend Marlborough 2024, a harmonious white blend from New Zealand's iconic Sauvignon Blanc heartland, embodies the Kimura family's cross-cultural odyssey. Japanese-born Shigehisa (Shige) Kimura, a former sommelier enchanted by French vineyards, relocated to Marlborough in 2009 with wife Mieko. This entry-level gem—typically blending Sauvignon Blanc with aromatic varietals like Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer. Tasting notes shimmer with a pale straw gleam and a lively nose of grapefruit zest, ripe pear, passionfruit, white peach, and floral honeysuckle, accented by lemon peel and a whisper of spice. Light- to medium-bodied, it glides with soft, pliable texture, zesty acidity, and layered flavors of crisp apple, citrus confit, and subtle salinity, finishing clean and lengthy with mineral freshness.
