Capannelle Chianti Classico Riserva 2016, a refined Sangiovese-led masterpiece from Tuscany’s historic heart, emerges from a visionary 1974 estate in Gaiole in Chianti. This Riserva, primarily 85-90% Sangiovese with 10-15% indigenous Colorino and Canaiolo, draws from top parcels, hand-harvested in the exceptional 2016 vintage—cool nights and sunny days yielding structured, aromatic fruit. Tasting notes unveil a luminous garnet hue with a complex nose of black cherry, wild strawberry, violet, leather, and balsamic herbs, laced with tobacco and spice. Full-bodied yet elegant, it unfurls silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of ripe plum, earthy truffle, and dark chocolate, finishing long with mineral grip and sanguine echoes.
