Ch. Cantemerle 2019, a Fifth Growth icon from Bordeaux's Haut-Médoc appellation, traces its roots to the 12th century, with wine production documented since the 14th. Nestled on 94 hectares of gravelly, clay-limestone soils near Macau village, the estate—owned by the Villeneuve family since 1570. Tasting notes unveil a deep, inky ruby hue with captivating aromatics of ripe cassis, blackcurrant, violets, cedar, sappy herbs, rose petals, sweet pipe tobacco, and hints of licorice and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, it caresses the palate with fleshy black fruits, supple, powdery tannins, vibrant acidity, and subtle roasted notes, culminating in a poised, harmonious finish laced with mineral freshness.
