Ch. Pédesclaux 2016, a Fifth Growth gem from Pauillac in Bordeaux's Left Bank, embodies the appellation's gravelly terroir of clay-limestone soils on a commanding plateau. Established in the 18th century, the estate spans 46 hectares with vines averaging 35 years old, farmed organically since the Lorenzetti family's 2009 acquisition, which sparked a renaissance through meticulous viticulture and biodynamic practices.Tasting notes reveal a deep garnet-purple hue with an intense, fresh nose of blackcurrant, blackberry jam, violets, and cigar box, laced with mint, rhubarb, and subtle spice. On the palate, it's medium- to full-bodied with seamless elegance: ripe yet firm tannins, soft acidity, and flavors of fleshy cherry, cassis, licorice, and roasted hazelnut, unfolding into a long, savory finish with mineral grip.
