ABOUT THE WINE

Corte Giara is the approachable, value-driven brand launched in 1989 by the renowned Allegrini family, historic producers in Valpolicella since 1854. Created to offer modern, everyday wines with excellent price-quality ratio, Corte Giara combines Allegrini expertise with selected local growers. It blends tradition with international appeal, focusing on fresh, fruit-forward styles from the hills around Verona. Corte Giara Merlot Corvina IGT Veneto 2022 is an innovative red blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Corvina Veronese, grown on mainly calcareous soils in the province of Verona. Grapes are vinified traditionally with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages briefly — around 4 months in stainless steel followed by a short bottle rest — preserving primary fruit without heavy oak influence. Alcohol: 12.5%. The 2022 vintage delivered ripe yet fresh fruit in a balanced, medium-bodied style.

TASTING NOTE:

Intense ruby red with deep highlights. The nose offers pristine red fruits — cherry, plum, and ripe berries — with subtle spice, herbs, and a light vegetal touch. On the palate it is juicy and enveloping, with soft, smooth tannins, vibrant acidity, good structure, and a long, pleasant finish. Supple and versatile, perfect for everyday drinking or pairing with grilled meats, pasta, or cheese.
