Domaine Michel Noëllat is a historic family estate in Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. Founded in the 19th century by Félix Noëllat, it is now run by the 6th generation: cousins Sophie (commercial & winemaking) and Sébastien Noëllat (viticulture). The domaine spans around 27 hectares across the Côte de Nuits, with holdings in prestigious sites including Echezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. Known for sustainable practices and a restrained, terroir-driven style, the wines emphasize depth, finesse, and classic Vosne intensity with moderate extraction and judicious oak use. Domaine Michel Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 2023 is a 100% Pinot Noir village wine sourced from multiple parcels on clay-limestone soils (including some influence from 1er Cru fruit in certain vintages). The 2023 vintage benefited from concentration due to modest yields. Traditional vinification includes cold pre-soak, destemming, and aging in French oak barrels with restrained new oak (typically one-third new, one-third one-year-old, one-third older).
Bright ruby-purple hue with an elegant, fruity nose of red cherry, raspberry, subtle spice, rose, and forest floor undertones. The palate is medium-bodied with silky texture, juicy red and black fruits, refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-tinged finish. Approachable yet with excellent aging potential. A refined, characterful expression of Vosne-Romanée.
