Domaine Jean-Paul Paquet & Fils is a family-owned estate in the heart of the Mâconnais, southern Burgundy. Established in the 1970s by Jean-Paul Paquet near the iconic Roche de Solutré, the domaine cultivates Chardonnay on limestone-rich clay soils. Now managed by the next generation, it produces expressive, characterful white wines that highlight the freshness and minerality of Pouilly-Fuissé with sensitive oak influence. Domaine Paquet Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé 2023 is a 100% Chardonnay cuvée sourced from old vines (average 25+ years) with excellent exposure. Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation in tank and barrels, followed by careful aging in French oak barrels where the wood accentuates rather than dominates the fruit. The result is a medium to full-bodied white with vibrant energy typical of the strong 2023 vintage in the Mâconnais.
Bright golden hue with an aromatic bouquet of ripe peach, pear, citrus zest, and subtle floral notes. The palate offers creamy texture balanced by fresh acidity, layers of stone fruit, toasted hazelnut, and a mineral saline finish with good length and finesse. Approachable now, yet capable of short-term aging.
