Luna Estate looks after the land and soils, employing regenerative and organic farming principles and practices across both of our vineyards. Sustainable, organic principles drive their farming processes, and in the winery they let the fruit do all the talking. They are proud growers and wine producers, turning all they grow into delicious produce using their own winery. This is truly what it means to be an Estate. 90% of winemaking happens on the land. Their careful practice in the cellar ensures that the unique character of the vineyards shines in your glass. Skillfully grown fruit, minimal handling and patience are the three main ingredients in our wines. No animal products used.
Planting on this site started in 1986, with some of these vines still producing today, contributing excellent mature vine fruit to the Blue Rock Pinot Noir. The vines grow in silty clay loams interspersed with ancient marine sediment. The Luna vineyard team are diligently converting to full organic practice in order to restore the mana of this precious piece of land.
Nice fresh, youthful vibrance to the appearance. A typically very highly perfumed Blue Rock Pinot bouquet of high-toned red cherry andfine floral notes. Some extra silty brown earthy aromas which add a “darker”dimension not generally seen in Blue Rock. The oak is sitting nicely, adding somecomplexity and support and is not a dominant feature overall
Drink with roasted game birdand mushroomsauce.
