Bellavista, founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti in Erbusco, Lombardy, is a cornerstone of Franciacorta’s sparkling wine legacy. Spanning 207 hectares across 107 vineyards, the winery harnesses the region’s glacial soils and mild climate near Lake Iseo to craft world-class sparkling wines. Under Francesca Moretti and winemaker Richard Geoffroy, formerly of Dom Pérignon, Bellavista blends tradition with innovation. Its 1,500,000-bottle annual production follows organic viticulture, emphasizing hand-harvesting and manual riddling. Bellavista Curtefranca Bianco DOC "Convento SS. Annunciata" 2021 is a 100% Chardonnay from the 5.45-hectare Monte Orfano vineyard, split into two plots with sand, silt, clay, and limestone soils. Hand-harvested grapes are carefully selected and gently pressed. Fermentation occurs in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures, followed by 24 months of oak aging and extended bottle aging for added complexity. The wine has a 13.5% ABV and is crafted to highlight the Franciacorta terroir’s minerality and elegance. Its limited production underscores Bellavista’s focus on quality, with a deep straw-yellow color and golden highlights.

TASTING NOTE:

This 2021 Curtefranca Bianco offers a bright straw-yellow hue with golden glints. The nose is complex, revealing floral aromas of ancient rose and fresh geranium, alongside ripe pineapple, apricot, and a subtle vanilla note. On the palate, it’s refined and mineral-driven, with vibrant acidity balancing generous fruitiness.
