The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the sixteenth century and has handed down the culture of the vine and wine ever since. The corporate legacy of Giovanni Allegrini, the driving force behind the rebirth of the Valpolicella area, passed into the hands of the new generations: his son and daughter, Franco and Marilisa, together with his niece Silvia, the daughter of his late son, Walter. The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the 16th century and has handed down the culture of the vine and wine ever since.
It bears the name of the vineyard surrounding Villa Della Torre. It was the precursor of the double fermentation method: Franco Allegrini’s courageous winemaking intuitions have given rise to an extremely versatile wine with a strong personality. Acclaimed by the world’s most important wine magazines, Palazzo della Torre is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous internationally.
An easy-drinking bend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, the Allegrini 2018 Palazzo della Torre is a medium-bodied red with dark fruit aromas, Morello cherry and dried blackberry. Like other wines from this vintage, the wine is a bit compact and short in terms of mouthfeel.
Risotto with mushrooms and sausage, pasta Amatriciana and Carbonara, platters of ham and culatello, pork loin, roast veal, Parmigiano Reggiano and matured Monte Veronese cheese.
