Today Bolgheri is one of the most interesting and seductive areas in Tuscany, celebrated for its history and its great wines, which over the years have created what we now call ‘the Bolgheri style’. n 2001, Marilisa Allegrini and her brother Walter were motivated by the challenge of a new project, separate from their beloved Valpolicella, set out in search of something extraordinary. They immediately fell in love with Bolgheri, its beauty, and its great potential. Their story is one of dedication and respect for the environment, and now also includes Marilisa's daughters, Carlotta and Caterina. Alongside their mother, and in honour of their beloved uncle, they carry this incredible project at Poggio al Tesoro forward and contribute to making it one of the most dynamic and significant wineries in Bolgheri. Within just a few years, Poggio al Tesoro has become one of the most dynamic wineries in Bolgheri, with wines that are distinguished by their excellence and originality and a distinct personality.
This is a broad, intense and enveloping Viognier, which owes its refined but versatile character to skilful practices aimed at preserving its freshness and varietal aromas. The 2019 harvest presented ideal conditions for its debut at the pinnacle of a meticulous viticultural management project bringing together experimental winemaking techniques. These include, in addition to modern steel vats, the use of terracotta amphorae and French oak barrels which, respectively, successfully confer freshness, verticality and structure.
A full, intense and enveloping 100% Viogner. The skilful vinification, partially in stainless steel, amphora and barrique, gives a wine with a bouquet rich in intense floral and fruity scents, orange peel, essential oils. The sea, which refracts its light on the vines, gives it a fragrant flavor.
Sondraia Bianco pairs well with appetizers, raw fish and, thanks to its freshness and aromatic character, fried seafood, fish stews and vegetable dishes.
