The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the sixteenth century and has handed down the culture of the vine and wine ever since. The corporate legacy of Giovanni Allegrini, the driving force behind the rebirth of the Valpolicella area, passed into the hands of the new generations: his son and daughter, Franco and Marilisa, together with his niece Silvia, the daughter of his late son, Walter. The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the 16th century and has handed down the culture of the vine and wine ever since.
Amarone is history, passion and vision. Vigorous and intense, it expertly balances power and elegance while maintaining and enhancing the integrity of the fruit. Acclaimed by wine lovers and international critics alike, Amarone Allegrini is recognized as the benchmark in winemaking excellence in Valpolicella.
The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for a about one hundred days, brings with it the great aromatic intensity of dark fruit and undergrowth, together with spicy and tobacco notes. The impact on the palate is powerful and vigorous, with the wine gradually tapering on the acidic and savoury momentum, extending gently with a clean, dry finish.
Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses. Excellent with hearty dishes. Amarone’s distinctive flavour compliments exotic sweet and sour cuisine and is therefore also perfect with Asian and middle-eastern dishes
