Located in the heart of Reims and facing the Cathedral, the Clos Lanson is the secret garden of the Mason. This historic one-hectare plot only produces a very limited number of bottles each year. The very chalky soil and the microclimate enjoyed by the Clos Lanson allow it to develop complex notes. Its rarity and exceptional aromas make it a precious wine.
2007 brought with it exceptionally contrasting weather. After a mild winter and a warm spring, the summer months were dull. In late August, patchy ripening pushed to leave the grapes to ripen further. Patience was rewarded by providential sunshine which would finish off the ripening perfectly until the harvest, carried out by the men and women of the House.
The colour is a brilliant pale gold. It boasts green shimmers and very fine bubbles. Intense and complex bouquet with notes of acacia blossom and citrus enriched with delicious, gently vanilla-scented aromas of patisserie, almonds and roasted hazelnuts. A hint of seaweed and smoky notes complete this highly expressive bouquet.
The generosity of the brioche and praline flavours contrasts with the airy, delicate quality of the floral, lemony notes. The finish is saline, precise and graceful on the palate.
