Machoman is the wine that be born in 2012. Made from the main grape of the Mediterranean, the Monastrell, it is the wine with the greatest personality of CASA ROJO and one of the best interpretations of the terroir that defines them. Since 2020, a small percentage of two plots linked to the Syrah and Petit Verdot winery have been added to the coupage.
The Monastrell comes from different extremely dry vineyards (seven plots for a total of 40 hectares) located at different altitudes and exposed to the sun between La Zarza and La Raja, on the slopes of the northern slope of the Natural Park of La Sierra de La Pila, in the highlands of the Region of Murcia.
On the nose the wine is unique. From one side, it is balsamic and menthol notes stand out with hints of rosemary, thyme, lavender and pine, a pure reflection of the land (low mountain) and on the other we find ourselves face to face with the ripe red fruits of plum, blackberry compote, blueberries and blackcurrant. in a luxury cover of smoked and dark chocolate, roasted and spices with hints of minerals and tobacco.
On the palate the wine is fleshy, with a lot of ripe fruit and highly sweet, but at the same time, fresh, balsamic and with a silky, balanced mid palate and a finish typical of great wines thanks to the nobility of aging in large woods.
• GRAPE VARIETY: 90% Monastrell, 5% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot
• Ageing: Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
